One thing I’m kicking myself for omitting from my free ebook is the use of VPC Endpoints, such as the S3 Endpoint, when trying to cut your AWS bill. These endpoints bypass the NAT Gateway and Internet Gateway, eliminating those costs from the equation. DynamoDB and many other services also have VPC Endpoints, allowing you to directly route traffic to them from your services. It’s a win for speed and a win for cost savings.
