Tech Debt - The Video Game Update 1/16/2026


Since I initially announced Tech Debt (Working title, subject to change), I have released 2 or 3 new versions.

I did a complete UI overhaul, rebalanced it, added several more mechanics and tools for you to explore, additional NPCs, a level-up system, and most importantly, a tutorial so it's a little easier to understand the mechanics.

What am I working on now? I want this game to be educational, to help people understand these abstract cloud architecture concepts. But I also want it to be fun to play.

So, in addition to the silly items that drop in, I am going to add a meta progression system that lets you unlock more cool power-ups and infrastructure as you play and complete challenges.

This started out as a fun little holiday project, but it has taken on a life of its own, and I am loving working on it right now.
