I try not to be the guy chasing shiny new tech. The business’s bottom line comes far before my want for engineering mental self-gratification. With that said, I have had clients who were concerned about the effect of client-side rendering on search engine optimization. If this is the case, you might still want to use Lambda Edge to render the HTML outside of your VPC closer to the end user. This will reduce latency and save you the cost of resending redundant bloated HTML through the NATGateway, though the cost of an Edge Lambda is more expensive than a regular Lambda, so make sure you factor that into your calculations.
