Redis Is Giving Me Whiplash.

Last week I wrote a series of posts on Redis/Valkey that are going live this week. The first of which was about how in November of 2025 Redis is no longer Open Source.
Well as of May 1st 2025 Redis Announced its going back to an OSI-approved AGPL Licence.
Thanks: Redis for making me look like a “Fizzle” giving information that is slightly out of date.
What does this mean for you?
It’s a great thing for us using Redis though I already wrote a bunch of posts about Valkey and I suggest you check that tech out while we wait to see what Redis and the big cloud providers' next moves are.
It sounds like that is for everything including the enterprise addition.
I’d like to thank my esteemed colleague Jonathan Limbird for bringing this to my attention today.
Question For You:
What is your opinion on the OSI Redis drama?
