DNS Tracking - Cleaver Analytics Or An Invasion Of Privacy?

Privacy-minded people often focus on avoiding tracking through cookies. However, referring back to the post I mentioned yesterday from the Cloudflare CTO, I found it interesting that they used DNS requests to create makeshift polling data at the last minute. In hindsight, it makes perfect sense to use that data for analytics.

It makes you wonder what your DNS lookup data might reveal about you. I’m not the biggest privacy nut, but as a regular web user, I’ll keep this in mind while browsing. As an analytics geek, I’m curious about the trends this kind of data might uncover.

Are there other ways you would track or prevent yourself from being tracked?
