AWS Nova Canvas - AWS’s Manage Service For Generative AI

They did it, they finally did it. They created a Managed Service for generating images and videos (Technically the videos are Nova Reels). What does this mean for you?

Managed Services take away the complex requirements of training and fine-tuning your own models and figuring out how to run them at scale.

As for pricing Google, AWS Q and I were unable to find the exact pricing model for Nova Canvas/Reels but they boast a “pay-as-you-go pricing” which is exactly what I would expect from an AWS Managed Service so my guess is you will get charged per image and per video.

This will be great for any early stage startup looking to cheaply validate their business model without needing to boot up big pre-provisioned models. If anyone has found the price documentation let me know where it is.

What is really amazing is that they will let you finetune a model to your particular needs. This makes me think there is likely an on demand cost for training hours and likely a storage cost for models.

So no need for setting up generative AI on Bedrock or SageMaker, just hop on over to AWS Nova Canvas and get started using that now.

Question for you:

What generative AI use cases are you working on right now?
