Agents are using far more tokens than people

Agents are using far more tokens than people.

This is fascinating as earlier this year Microsoft estimated that only about 17% of the worlds working age population is even using AI.

So how is this parabolic rise even possible?

Agents assigning subagents?

Recurring automations?

Skynet?

Probably a bit of all those things.

The super users are leading the adoption and running some big experiments.

If those experiments don’t pan out and we see all those background agents get shut down then what do you think that will do to the valuation of those super scalers that make up 37.4% of the S&P 500?

On the other hand this line could go up in a similar pattern to automobile usage vs horse and buggy; a trend I doubt we will see reverse any time soon.

I’m actually on the fence here, so I would love to hear what you think.
