AWS Nova now supports a virtual try-on feature

Have you heard about AWS Nova's virtual product try-on feature?

If you're running an e-commerce business, you're going to want to check this out sooner than later.

This feature allows you to upload a picture of a product and the human that's going to wear it, and it will take the product and superimpose it onto the person.

For example, I was wearing a gray shirt in the original version of this picture, and now I'm wearing a Hawaiian shirt; A Hawaiian shirt that I've never touched or seen, just some image I pulled off the internet.

This is a whole new way of letting people virtually try on clothes before they buy.

Is this going to actually be useful in the future? I have no idea, but it is indeed technically possible to do at this point.

It's not perfect, the lighting's off, it looks just a bit awkward, and my first attempt at superimposing a sombrero onto my head did not work at all, but I'm sure that will become totally feasible in the weeks and months to come.

After doing just a little bit more digging in their documentation, I can see that they cover upper body, lower body, footwear, and a variety of styles. Just not headwear yet.

Is this a giant leap forward in technology? Not really. But if you're running an e-commerce business, this probably should be on your radar as a feature your customers will come to expect in the future.
